As you all know, Kevin offered to sponsor a lunch for Diocesan Jail and Prison Ministry volunteers who serve at Lower Buckeye Jail (LBJ). This will be a great opportunity to meet our fellow volunteers, get supplies if needed, and get some information and feedback from Kevin.
I surveyed you all for the date when the most volunteers could attend. Tentatively, it looks like 13 of the 17 can make it on October 3rd. I’m sorry that we couldn’t find a date where everyone was free. For those that can’t make it, we may have a follow-up lunch for you.
Here are the details:
What: Lunch for LBJ Volunteers
When: October 3rd at 11:30 am
Where: Cafeteria in the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix Offices, 400 E. Monroe Street, Phoenix AZ 85004
RSVP: I’m assuming that all of you who said you could make it on Oct 3rd will attend, so no RSVP is needed. Just let me know if something changes and you can’t make it.
We’ll meet in the lobby where we will all have to sign in. Then Kevin will accompany us into the cafeteria.
Have you all been to the Diocesan offices? You probably have, but I won’t assume, so I’ll give some details. You can park in the underground parking garage, which you enter on the west side of 5th Street, between E. Monroe Street and E. Van Buren Street. 5th Street is one-way going north. After you park, you can take the stairs up to the lobby. If I recall correctly, the stairs that go to the lobby are by the elevator. If you take the wrong stairs, you’ll wind up on the Virginia G. Piper Plaza, and you can enter the lobby from there.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Mark you calendars – looking forward to seeing you on October 3rd!
