We have some new volunteers for the Catholic Diocese’s Jail and Prison Ministry who will be helping at Lower Buckeye Jail (LBJ)! This post is to welcome them, and let you LBJ volunteers know about them, and when and where they are volunteering. You may run into them at the jail sometime. The bold text indicates our new volunteers.

Jim is still shadowing, but will probably be helping on Level 3 on Tuesday, twice per month. Currently Art (Tuesday) and John (Thursday) are each going twice a month on Level 3, covering 3 pods. Jim will help to fill in the schedule on Level 3.

Jack is going twice a month, teaming up with Mike in the Dormitories on Tuesday. Ken does the alternate Tuesdays in the Dormitories. Pete serves our Saturday time slot in the Dormitories.

Jeanne (who is Jack’s wife) and Judy have teamed up to serve the Juvenile pod (Level 3, pod 32A) morning session on Thursday at 9:00 AM. The boys in the juvenile pod are divided into two groups, and one can go to chapel services in the morning, and the other can go in the afternoon. Carolee is currently doing the afternoon session.

Joe will team up with Mike on Level 1 on Wednesdays. Joe and Mike will work as a team for now. Rick and Joe L currently are teaming up on Level 1 on Fridays.

Thanks to the ‘J Team’ (Jim, Jack, Jeanne, Judy, and Joe) for volunteering, and welcome to LBJ ministry! You may meet some of them at our upcoming lunch (a blog with details on the October 3rd lunch is coming soon). By the way, in case you’re wondering, we don’t require that all new volunteers have names that start with ‘J’ 🙂.

If you’re interested in seeing the Diocese schedule at LBJ, I put it on the website here. You can also see a table with all of our current volunteer needs at that same page (click on the tab at that link that says ‘Needs’). If you’re interested in seeing a list of the Diocesan Jail and Prison Ministry volunteers at LBJ, I put it on the website here. To see that page, you need to enter the password, which I have given you all. If you forgot it, let me know and I’ll give it to you.
