New Catholic Religious Books Available for Spanish Speaking Inmates

You may know that priests and brothers from the Crosier Order serve at LBJ. Through a generous grant from the Order Of Malta, the Crosiers are making available to our Spanish speaking inmates a series of books from Catholic Home Study. There are a series of 9 books, and the first has been translated to Spanish, and copies provided to the Chaplain at LBJ, for distribution to men who request it.

The nine books were written in English by Fr. Oscar Lukefahr, CM. They are written for an audience with minimal formation in the Catholic faith, so they would be appropriate for many of the men in jail who are interested in learning about the Catholic faith. For the Spanish language version, you can tell the men in your service to submit a tank order for book ‘Creemos: Estudio de la Catolic Fe” (in English the title is: “We Believe: A Survey of the Catholic Faith”).

The English version of the books are only available by mail. Father Tom provided a document he gives to English speaking people he meets who express an interested in deepening their Catholic faith. Here it is:
